BaumannWohlenberg high-speed guillotines of the pro-tec product line are of solid construction and suited for processing various materials, as e.g. paper, cardboard, offset printing plates or similar cutting stock. Modern cutting technique allows rational cutting of different products and sizes.

The guillotine can be economically used as stand-alone unit or integrated in cutting systems. Program generation is menu-guided and covers a variety of cutting jobs, e.g. Single cut, Program cut, Repeat cut, Clamping without cut, Automatic actual-value transfer.

Baumann BSH - Pile Hoists with platform.

The automated functions relief the operator’s physical strain while increasing the efficiency of the high-speed cutter.

Baumann BSB L – Automatic jogger

All model "L" automatic joggers are equipped with a pneumatic air-expulsion roller with clamping device. Suitable for B2, B1 and B0 formats.

The new BSB 3 L professional is able to jog even "difficult" materials, such as metallic paper, pharmaceutical package inserts or labels, much easier and thus quicker than conventional joggers. Suitable for B1 format

Baumann BA N - Unloaders for piles ≤ 1100 mm

The ergonomic and economically effective way to restack single and multiple cuts with high precision. The manual re-stacking of paper and cardboard after the cutting-process requires a lot of time and effort. The unloader gives you the opportunity to automate the restacking process. Unloaders BA N take up the material at the level of the table. The pile is positioned underneath the unloader table. The reams are re-stacked until a maximum pile height of 1100 mm has been reached. Unloaders BA N can either be installed on the right or on the left hand-side of the cutter. The design is very innovative (especially the principle of controlled axis), material and finish are of high-quality. The user friendly operators panel with clear text display offers the opportunity to change all relevant parameters.

Baumann BA - Unloader

Unloaders type BA are especially made for pile-heights of up to 1400 mm. The material is re-stacked in front of the unloader. The material is taken up at the level of the table and re-stacked either above or under this level. Unloaders BA can either be installed on the right or on the left hand-side of the cutter.  The design is very innovative (especially the principle of controlled axis), material and finish are of high-quality. The user friendly operator’s panel with clear text display offers the opportunity to change all relevant parameters.

Baumann BSW - Automatic pile turners

The manual handling of paper and cardboard-stacks is a backbreaking and expensive process. Baumann Pile Turners give you the opportunity to save time, reduce the costs and eliminate the physical effort. There is a great variety of requirements today’s pile turners have to meet.

A diversity of tasks can be carried out by these multiple machines:

  • Pile turning
  • Precise pile alignment
  • Accelerate the drying process of printed products
  • Aerate and thus separate sheets prior to the printing process
  • Pallet exchange
  • Remove wastepaper

Baumann has concentrated on this diversity of tasks and offers a very broad range of pile turners in order to put the perfect pile turner for any task at our customers disposal. The automated pile turners are equipped with an operator’s panel with a clear text display, which can be delivered with a touch screen, if desired. According to the model, up to 9 different programs can be selected by the operator. The automated process is started when the program is started. The operator can adjust the program and optimize the process without having to interrupt the program.

The Baumann BASA, in its different formats, is believed to be the first system worldwide that is able to align a large variety of materials fully automatically! The BASA is equipped for two different modes of operation:

During automatic operation, the machine processes the arriving pile without any operator assistance and provides the jogged and aligned layers in the desired height for further processing.

For critical materials and smaller tasks the machine has been provided with a manual operating mode that works similar to a traditional jogger.

The Baumann BASA offers touch screen simplicity of operation, as well as both in-line and off-line solutions. The machine can handle all types of papers (over 60 gsm), various types of label papers, cardboard (up to 300 gsm), foils, certain types of plastics, and perforated and embossed paper and cardboard.  BASA options include a carton inserter and a counting device.

DRUPA 2016

Although Friedheim International does not have a stand at DRUPA 2016, the majority of the companies that Friedheim represents in the UK & Ireland will be participating – Baumann-Wohlenberg being one of them:

Baumann-Wohlenberg is using DRUPA to launch its new concept – ‘Cutting 4.0’ – which focuses on a state-of-the-art cutting system capable of eliminating bottlenecks and increasing productivity in the finishing process.

The basic idea is simple: one jogging system supplies pre-jogged reams for two or more cutting systems.  The idea itself is not new: what is new is that the automatic jogging system BASA is connected directly with the high speed cutter through a logistics system and a multi-ream rack BMR.  Equipped with 20 ‘storage spaces’ the BMR is responsible for the job management.  As a result, transportation and storing of pre-jogged reams within the company can thus be avoided.

In practice, the operators of the high speed cutters request the respective job; at the same time they can already pre-select the subsequent job.  Thanks to the pre-selection, this means that the first ream of the subsequent job will be read to cut as soon as the operator has finished cutting the last ream of the current job.  Waiting times are thus avoided and productivity is enhanced.
